So what is this site all about?

(or... just who are these crazy people?)

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away... oh... sorry... that is another story.  Can I blame it on all these stars?  Thanks.  Anyway... The site originally started with some discussions over a few brews.  Seemed that a lot of us were having problems with their emails.  The usual stuff...  ads, blocked access from certain places (ummm.... like work), can't get the user name they want, and, the always popular, 'have to give it up when you switch ISPs'.  That gets me to thinking - a dangerous thing all in itself... the websites that I've been hosting have unlimited emails and can be forwarded.  What's more, I have full control.  Why not start up a website, give them whatever user name they want, forward to where they are (or store it here if they are in limbo), and they never have to worry about that garbage again!

And so... 7BridgesRoad was created.  Sort of a present to all of my friends.  An email haven and a place for us to store and share stuff.

Of course... no good deed goes unpunished... word spread.  So now, the list of friends has increased and has started to include friend's family members, friends of friends, and even a web home for a whole high school graduating class.  It has become a bit more than I originally planned, but what the heck... its all good.

So what will you find here since it was originally just to be an email haven?  Well... we have put up some stuff that we like and would like to share among us.  It could just be a cartoon... or it could be a whole website within a website.  Some of it is protected, some isn't.  Depends on what it is.  And there is more stuff coming.

"But what is with the 7BridgesRoad theme?"... Good question.  I needed a name for this thing.  Something about coming to this place and then heading out in another direction.  So as I was dreaming it up and mulling it over, I found myself out with the gang again.  A few brews into the night the juke box starts playing 'Seven Bridges Road'.  We all like to sing, and one by one started quietly singing along.  Only a few measures in, we all noticed (all SEVEN of us that night) that we were all singing and had stopped talking.  So we sang louder - each taking a different part.  Seven friends, seven parts, 'Seven Bridges Road'......    And so, the name was born.

So now you know... and now it is time.  Time to head southward in the moonlight through the moss covered trees.  Time to see if you can find some of that time sweetened honey under our starry skies.

Fare thee well, my friend!
